STW Race Team: Back-to-Back Champs!!

The STW Krav Maga Race Team ventured to Austin on Friday, October 14, to defend its title at the Capital to Coast Relay and are now back-to-back champions for the race. This relay is the longest in The United States – beginning at Republic Park in Austin and stretching to the coast in Corpus Christi – covering a span of 223 miles! Twenty-three teams started this grueling race and 20 finished. STW Krav Maga hosted a Women’s Only Self Defense Seminar in September to empower women to not be afraid to hit on guys! The seminar was offered in joint effort with The Rape Crisis Center for women looking to learn to “Protect, Act, and Stay Safe”. More than 150 women had extensive training on defending themselves from an attacker in various positions and utilized self-defense techniques against certified Krav Maga instructors.   STW Krav Maga Worldwide donated $1000 to The Animal Defense League of Texas (ADL) on Saturday, September 17. The donation was raised by proceeds from the Knife Defense Seminar which benefited the “no-kill” animal shelter. During the seminar, STW members and guests focused on learning knife attack defenses while standing and from the ground.
